Mirrors IV

MIRRORS: SeLiem

SeLiem and Arianna’s descent abruptly separates them. SeLiem finds himself sprawled upon a stone floor, bathed in an ethereal light and surrounded by four mirrored walls. SeLiem marvels at the craftsmanship of the mirrors; perhaps metal, not glass, yet no less impressive.

No doors adorn the chamber, only four circular metal plates set into the floor’s center. Testing the mirrors, he confirms their metallic nature, then scours the room for hidden entrances or clues. Stone meets his gaze above and below, offering no solace.

Silence envelops him, save for the gentle tap of his knuckle against a mirror’s surface, confirming its solidity. His mark leaves no trace upon the pristine metal, and each reflection mirrors his actions. Yet, a subtle discord lingers in their mimicry.

Puzzled, SeLiem ponders his next move. As he approaches the metal plates, anticipation ripples through him. With a cautious step onto one, he triggers a magical surge, a Teleportation, but finds himself no further from his origin. The mirrors, unchanged, reveal his displaced self.

Undeterred, SeLiem’s analytical mind seeks a solution. He will mark the stones beside each plate, unveiling the Teleportation’s pattern. Before he can make the first chip into the floor with his mace, his own mirrored images turn hostile, clawed specters intent on his demise.

Reacting swiftly, SeLiem engages the nearest foe, his resolve unyielding. Amidst the chaos, a thought surfaces: Teleportation and Illusion, incompatible bedfellows. Racing towards the nearest portal, he escapes the onslaught just as the mirror monsters collapse around him.

In the newfound chamber, the reflections hold no menace, only the promise of further mysteries. With determination, SeLiem resumes his exploration, mindful of the lessons learned in the mirrored labyrinth.

The adventure continues, its secrets awaiting discovery.
